I am the king of Highland Park in North East LA. I have been making hip hop music for a number of decades, rapping since I was 12 and recording since I was 16ish. I make progressive, intelligent hip-hop music. I’m a high school English teacher by trade. I’m a single father of 3 wonderful children. I also write and perform my own original poetry. I release my music under the label Music Is Free Records. The motto is “Music is free…it’s the rent that costs.” I’m also a member of a global hip hop collaborative collective called the Hardw3rk Microphone Collective. We are a conglomeration of MCs, DJs, producers and engineers from Los Angeles, Riverside, Florida, Philadelphia and Japan. Our motto is: “It ain’t woth the work, unless it’s Hardw3rk!!!” Anything else just ask.
I use a Neuman U87 microphone to record my vocals. I use Digidesign’s Pro Tools digital recording and editing program with an Apogee Duo interface.
I have no sponsors at this time, but I do support a few companies. I wear a hat by Key to the City Clothing. I wear shirts by Goodlife Roots Clothing. I also wear Controversial Brand shirts. I have a Northeast LA one. I also have a dope sweater from NE Los Brand. Other than that hit me up if you are looking to sponsor someone.
I call my music style Progressive, Intelligent Hip-Hop.
